Palena

In the upper Aventino valley, almost totally immersed in the Majella National Park, between Palaces and green woods rises Palena. Here, as soon as you arrive, you can breathe an atmosphere of well-being and relaxation. The luxuriant nature, the clean air, the ancient tranquility of the inhabitants all contribute to making the village a place of peace and beauty. The Aventino river also crosses the town, creating beautiful waterfalls and small pools of water, in a play of lights and reflections that enchants. In this almost magical setting, we meet the elements of the village that tell its past history, including the castle of the eleventh century, the eighteenth-century bell tower of the Parish Church and the Church of the Madonna del Rosario, which houses precious works of art. art and a beautiful eighteenth-century organ. For the joy of the little ones there is the Marsicano Bear Fauna Area where to live strong emotions spotting the bears Caterina, Iris and Margherita.
